Settlement Support New Zealand consists of 19 local initiatives around New Zealand. These initiatives are
funded by the NZ Government through the Department of Labour. Settlement Support New Zealand
connects newcomers with existing services in local communities. It does not actually provide those
services but will:

• Identify local settlement support needs and the services that can meet them
• Connect individuals with information and services that support their settlement
• Support mainstream services in meeting the needs of newcomers to NZ
• Provide a clear point of contact for newcomers to access the information they need to settle
