Katch Katikati focus on staying connected. This may be within our immediate community by attending community meetings and speaking at special interest groups. Likewise with agencies outside of Katikati such as Waihi Beach Events and Promotions, Tourism Bay of Plenty, Priority One, Tauranga Chamber of Commerce, Creative Bay of Plenty. We work together to share Katikati opportunities and collaborate with events and activities that will bring benefit to Katikati.
Some examples include the Katikati and Waihi Beach Community Awards, involvement in the strategic review of Tourism Bay of Plenty, involvement with the Capability Building in Arts & Culture Sector review, involvement in the Smart Economy Action Group, hosting of the Chamber of Commerce guest speakers.
Katch Katikati seeks to ensure that all people in our town can have their voice heard on issues that are important to them.
We have always operated with an open door policy and welcome people in to share their views, so that we can ensure that their opinions are genuinely considered when decisions are made.
In particular on subjects such as the Katikati Community Plan, Katikati Town Centre Plan, and also any community lead development opportunities.
The team at Katch Katikati manage the bookings for the Memorial Hall, 29 Main Road, Katikati. The Memorial Hall is popular with community groups and has three separate areas available for rental.
For more information visit the Memorial Hall website or visit the listing under venue hire here.
Since our inception we have had a focus on the Main Street precinct of Katikati. To be fair sometimes this focus has been stronger than other times.
We 100% support the need for a Main Street bypass so that our retailers and Main Street businesses can flourish. As we don’t seem to be making any headway with the bypass, we really want to see the Main Street area tidied. New footpaths, reduced Main Street parking creating more green spaces, the tar-sealing of the Kotahi Lane carpark so that it can actually be used, the development of a market square and a town centre that is easier to navigate around.
We have an opportunity to create a village feel to our town and we keep hopeful that the 2022 Town Centre Plan will action some of these issues.
Thank you to our supporters for helping to make a difference in our community
